Ravens Head Coach Jesse Minter and Executive Vice President and General Manager Eric DeCosta speak to the media after day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Baltimore fans, It is time to get hyped because Eric DeCosta just put on an absolute masterclass on Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft! Following the Day 1 selection of Penn State "mauler" Vega Ioane, the Ravens stayed true to their "best player available" mantra at pick No. 45, snagging Missouri edge rusher Zion Young. This dude is a physical specimen who sets a hard edge and has a relentless motor that fits the Ravens' defensive culture perfectly—expect him to be a nightmare for AFC North quarterbacks alongside our veteran rushers.

Then, at pick No. 80, the front office went back to the offensive side of the ball, securing Ja'Kobi Lane, the towering 6'4" wide receiver from USC who provides Lamar Jackson with a massive red-zone target and a dynamic vertical threat. With these additions to the Baltimore Ravens roster, the Flock has addressed critical needs at edge and wideout with high-ceiling talent, proving once again why this organization is the gold standard for draft-day value!

Baltimore Ravens draft OL Olaivavega Ioane for Lamar Jackson protection in 1st round

The Baltimore Ravens just made a major statement in the trenches by selecting Olaivavega Ioane in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, a move that perfectly aligns with the "Play Like a Raven" DNA. Standing at a mountain of a man with elite lateral agility, Ioane is the foundational piece this offensive line needs to solidify the protection for Lamar Jackson and pave lanes for the ground game.

Adding a powerhouse like Ioane ensures that the Ravens front five remains one of the most physical groups in the AFC North, providing the essential bulk and high-motor intensity required to win late into January. As the Ravens continue to prioritize dominance in the trenches, this pick signals a clear commitment to a smash-mouth identity that will keep Baltimore a force in the NFL for the forseeable future.

Baltimore Ravens Work on Offense First in 2015 NFL Draft

The Baltimore Ravens made getting Joe Flacco some new toys to play with a priority in the 2015 NFL draft. Normally the Ravens build the defense first in the draft, but this time they elected to take a wide receiver and a tight end with their first 2 picks.

The Ravens drafted WR Breshad Perriman with their first pick and the 26th overall pick of the draft. Perriman ran the 40-yard dash in a mind-boggling 4.24 and 4.27 seconds at his pro day and will replace the speed loss by the departure of WR Torrey Smith.

I really look forward to seeing Joe Flacco throw long bombs to WR Breshad Perriman this upcoming football season.

Ravens Select Jimmy Smith with Their First Round Pick in 2011 NFL Draft

The Baltimore Ravens have selected Colorado cornerback Jimmy Smith with their first round pick in the 2011 NFL draft.  I think this was a great pick for the  Baltimore Ravens who have had issues at the cornerback position for the last few years.

Will the Ravens Pick a Cornerback in the NFL Draft?

The Baltimore Ravens have been trying to fix their problems at the cornerback position for a few years now. I was so surprised last year that the Ravens did not pick a cornerback in the NFL draft. Last year we seemed to be more focused to trying to fix our problems at the wide receiver position.

This year there is some speculation that we may pick Colorado cornerback Jimmy Smith with the Ravens first pick in the 2011 NFL draft if the opportunity in there. I personally would like to see us get a good young cornerback as well a good OL to take the place of Gaither in this years NFL draft. Many say that Jimmy Smith draws comparison to former Ravens cornerback Chris McAlister.

Baltimore Ravens Prepare for Next Season

There is a consensus among most Baltimore Ravens fans and media that the Ravens will need a big play wide receiver and maybe a CB for next year. It will be interesting to see what we end up with in this year's NFL draft.

The first round of the 2010 NFL Draft will start on Thursday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. ET, with the second and third rounds on Friday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m. ET, followed by Rounds 4-7 on Saturday, April 24 at 10 a.m. ET.
