Revisit Superbowl XLVII: 2012 Baltimore Ravens | John Harbaugh - Now Streaming!!!

The 2012 Baltimore Ravens cemented their legacy in NFL history with a legendary "Last Ride" postseason run that culminated in a thrilling victory in Super Bowl XLVII. It was the only Superbowl victory under the 18 year tenure of former Ravens coach John Harbaugh. Led by Hall of Famers Ray Lewis, who announced his retirement prior to the playoffs, and Ed Reed, the Ravens' defense provided the emotional heart of the team, while quarterback Joe Flacco delivered one of the greatest postseasons ever seen, throwing 11 touchdowns and zero interceptions.

From the "Mile High Miracle" in Denver to the goal-line stand against the 49ers in the Superdome, the 2012 squad proved that resilience and veteran leadership are the ultimate championship ingredients. This iconic season remains a cornerstone of Baltimore sports culture, celebrating the franchise's second world title and the end of a golden era for the Ravens' defensive identity.

Ravens vs Bengals: Revenge is Sweet for the Ravens

They say pay back is a b**tch, well the Baltimore Ravens definitely paid the Bengals back for the loss at home on Thanksgiving Day where the Ravens had a mind blowing 5 turnovers. Sunday was a different story however and the Ravens made a statement by shutting out Joe Burrow for the first time in his NFL career. It was a 24 to 0 ass whooping! The Ravens defense was even doing hand offs on the pick sixes reminiscent of the Ed Reed days!

Ed Reed: The Pick Master

Ed Reed is the best free safety to ever play the game. He put fear in the hearts of opposing quarterbacks and made Baltimore Ravens fan proud. Check out the legend in action.

Terrell Suggs is Keeping the Strong Defense Tradition Alive in Baltimore

Ray Lewis and Ed Reed have passed the torch to Terrell Suggs to lead the Ravens defense. He has done a great job this year and the Baltimore Ravens defense is currently ranked #1 in the NFL.

The defense will be tested this week when they go up against the Kansas City Chiefs who have the top ranked offense.

Ravens vs Texans Pre-Game Analysis

There will be several things to look out for in today's Ravens vs Texans football game. Ray Lewis will be in town for the ring of honor ceremony at the game. This game will also mark the return of Ed Reed since he he left for the Houston Texans. The Baltimore Ravens need this game in order to stay on top of the AFC North.

The Houston Texans are known to have a good defense and strong running game on offense. It will be a good sign for the Ravens if they can perform well against the Texans. Although most analyst seem to be picking the Texans to win, I am taking the Ravens at home.

Prediction: Ravens 17 Texans 14

Ed Reed is Out and Michael Huff is In

I was really sad when I found out that Ed Reed was going to be playing for the Houston Texans. This was shocking news especially since it has been less than two months since Ed Reed's speech at the Ravens parade. I guess it is only fair that the Texans take one of our good players seeing that we got Bernard Pollard, Vonta Leach, and Jacoby Jones from them. The pain of losing Ed Reed was eased a little bit when I heard the news that we acquired safety Michael Huff from the Oakland Raiders.

Michael Huff will probably never be another Ed Reed but he is a better cover guy than Bernard Pollard and is he very physical. He is also very versatile and can play both strong and free safety positions as well as cornerback. Combine this free agency signing with that of Elvis Dumervil and it looks like the Baltimore Ravens will be back in business in 2013. Michael Huff's NFL career stats

Will Ravens Keep Safety Ed Reed?

After the Baltimore Ravens shocked the fans by cutting hard hitting safety Bernard Pollard, keeping Ed Reed is a must in my opinion. I mean who would feel confortable with a completely new secondary on defense? The Houston Texans seem to be rolling out the red carpet to try get Ed Reed from us. There is still hope however that Baltimore will keep him as the Ravens organization is expected to meet with Reed's agent soon.

Here is a video clip of Ed Reed's speech in front of the crown and M&T Bank stadium during Ravens parade after the Superbowl 47 victory:

Reason Ravens Will Win the Superbowl

Here are some reasons that the Baltimore Ravens will win the Superbowl:

Joe Flacco - Joe Flacco has the arm of Hercules. Have you seen those bomb he threw against Denver?

Ray Lewis - Ray Lewis is full of confidence and he will play like a man possessed.

Ed Reed - The 49ers QB is a rookie and has never played against Ed Reed. The rookie doesn't know and in this case what he doesn't know will hurt him when it comes to Ed Reed. I expect Ed Reed to get a pick in this game.

Cam is gone - Many feel that former offensive coordinator Cam Cameron was holding the offense back. Well he is gone and it is a new day.

The Ravens will win Superbowl 47!

Ravens Defensive Coordinator Chuck Pagano is Interviewing With Colts

It has been reported that Baltimore Ravens Defensive Coordinator Chuck Pagano is interviewing for the Indianapolis Colts head coaching job opening. Chuck Pagano has done an outstanding job in his first season in charge of the Ravens defense. Under his leadership Baltimore allowed the third-fewest points and yards in the league in 2011. The Ravens also finished fourth in rushing defense and second in pass defense. The Ravens also led the league in sacks.

Although I wish Chuck Pagano much success in advancing his career, it would be great to have him back for another season as the Ravens Defensive Coordinator. I absolute love what he did with the secondary this year. Ladarius Webb is playing at a super high level and Cary Williams was impressive as well. Both Ed Reed and Ray Lewis have announced that they planned on returning next season. I would love to see what Chuck Pagano could do with the Ravens defense next year. I am confident the Ravens will be back in the playoff hunt for the 5th straight year.

Ravens Beat Texans and Advance to AFC Championship Game

The Ravens vs Texans was a tough fought game. Ladarius Webb got 2 picks and Ed Reed got one as well as the Ravens rolled to victory in a close game. Even though Ray Rice was held to just 60 yards rushing, he did get his touches and thus another Ravens win.

The Houston Texans had a good rushing attack and Arian Foster rushed for 132 yards. It wasns't enough though because Joe Flacco threw for 2 touchdowns and no interceptions. The Ravens will go on the road next week to play the New England Patriots.

Final Score: Ravens 20 Texans 13

Ravens Destroy the Jets in Primetime Sunday Night

It wasn't even close. The New York Jets were overpowered by the Baltimore Ravens defense which returned 3 turnovers for touchdowns. The Jets defense did play well but the Ravens defense played better. The Ravens defense set the tone early by recovering a Mark Sanchez fumble for a TD. The fumble was forced by the legendary Ed Reed.

Joe Flacco targeted Torrey Smith deep a few times but they could not connect as well as they did last week against the Rams. The Ravens look good going into the bye week sitting in first place in the AFC North. After the bye week, the Ravens will play the Houston Texans at home.

Final Score: Ravens 34 Jets 17

Joe Flacco Gets the Monkey Off his Back Against the Steelers

All you kept hearing this year is how Joe Flacco has never beaten Ben Roethlisberger. Well, today Joe Flacco played way better than Ben Roethlisberger. Flacco looked like an elite quarterback today striking early and often. His first pass of the entire season was a touchdown pass to Anquan Boldin!

Ray Rice was also a beast on offense scoring 2 TDs in the first half.  The legendary Ed Reed had 2 picks. Mighty Ray Lewis had a pick and forced a fumble. Terrell Suggs aka T. Sizzle caused major havoc and became the Ravens all-time sack leader today. I thought it would be another close game at first but the Ravens whipped the Steelers asses like they stoled something.  If the Ravens continue to play this well, this could indeed be our Superbowl year.

Final Score: Ravens 35 Steelers 7

Ravens Beat Browns and Clinch Playoff Spot

The Baltimore Ravens clinched a playoff spot today when they beat the Cleveland Browns today. The Ravens have gone back to the formula that works for them which is running the ball. Ray Rice had 25 carries for 92 yards. Joe Flacco only threw for 102 yards in the air but had two key touchdown passes to T.J. and Derrick Mason. Ed Reed came up with a whopping 2 interceptions on defense.

The key for the Ravens in the playoffs will be to run the ball and keep our defense off the field as much as possible in the 2nd half. Next up will be the Bengals. Go Ravens!!!

Final Score: Ravens 20 Bengals 10

Ravens Never Looked Back in Win Over Panthers

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Carolina Panthers just like I anticipated in my previous post. Actually, the Ravens did better than I thought they would scoring 10 more points than I predicted. Joe Flacco set the tone early hitting T.J. Houshmandzadeh for a 56 yard touchdown pass on the second play from scrimmage and the Ravens never looked back after that.

Several Ravens hit career milestones during the game. T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught his 600th career reception. Old reliable Derrick Mason became the 13th play in NFL history to hit the 900 career catch mark. Not to be outdone, a couple of defensive players hit milestones as well. Ed Reed grabbed his 50th career interception and Ray Lewis snatched his 30th career interception which he also ran in for a TD to close out the game.

Final Score: Ravens 37 Panthers 13

Ravens vs Falcons Pre-Game Analysis

The Atlanta Falcons are undefeated at home and so are the Baltimore Ravens. The Atlanta Falcons have a big edge in this game because they are playing at home on a short week. Both teams seem to be very similar but we have one thing that they don't have and that is Ed Reed. Ed Reed has gotten one or more interceptions in every game since his return and I think he could be the difference maker in this game.

I am going with the Ravens in this battle of the birds and I look for Joe Flacco to shine in the national spotlight Thursday night.

Prediction: Ravens 23 Falcons 20
