Ravens vs Browns Pre Game Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens have been involeved in a video scandal every since the Ray Rice elevatorincident. The Ravens vs Browns game scheduled for 1 pm eastern time will be a chance for Ravens to get back to football and take care of business against the Cleveland Browns.

The Baltimore Ravens usually do very well against the Cleveland Browns but the Browns are much improved. I still feel that Ravens have too many weapons on offense with a healthy Dennis Pitta and newly acquired top receiver Steve Smith Sr. The Ravens defense also played very well last Thursday night and are very well rested. I predict another Ravens win this week.

Prediction Ravens 23 Browns 13

Bad Week for Baltimore Ravens Fans

This has been a bad week so far for Baltimore Ravens fans. First we lose a heart breaker to the Cincinnati Bengals. A game the Ravens could have very easily won if they did not keep shooting themselves in the foot.

To make matters worse, The Ravens cut running back Ray Rice today because a video showing what happened inside the elevator leaked and it wasn't good. This has been a ruff week for Ravens Nation but we still have a chance to redeem ourselves if we can beat our rival Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night.

Ray Rice Suspended for 2 Games

Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has been suspended for 2 games for his misconduct during the off season. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced the punishment today which happens to be the first day of full training camp practice for the Baltimore Ravens. Ray Rice became famous for assaulting and knocking out his eventual wife in an elevator. The video of the incident has been all over the internet. Ray Rice will miss games against the Cincinnati Bengals as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers due to the suspension.

Below is a video clip of the infamous elevator incident involving Ray Rice:

Baltimore Ravens Need a Win in Miami

The Superbowl Champion Baltimore Ravens are in desperate need of a win today in Miami. The Ravens are looking for their first road win of the 2013 season. If the Ravens were to lose today to the Miami Dolphins, they will fall below 500 for the first time in a long time. The Ravens looked really bad last week against the Buffalo Bills throwing 5 interceptions and basically shot themselves in the foot.

Joe Flacco will need to have a much better game this week and they will need to get Ray Rice involved early. Marlon Brown will probably be out due to an injury so the Ravens will be short on wide receivers. In order to get this win, the defense will have to play extremely well and the offense will need to make some big plays.

Go Ravenns!!! R

Ravens vs Bills Pre-Game Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens are coming off of a big win over the Houston Texans last week. The Ravens defense has not given up a touchdown since week 1. I expect the Ravens to find a way to win this game on the road and beat the Buffalo Bills. I expect the Ravens defense to force some turnover with their strong pass rush and aility to stop the run. Ray Rice may return to action today from his hip injury.

Prediction: Ravens 23 Bills 13

Ray Rice Up the Middle

"Hey Diddle Diddle, Ray Rice up the middle" was the saying all week as Ray Rice made an incredible play on 4th and 29 last Sunday to help the Baltimore Ravens beat the San Diego Chargers 16 to 13 in OT.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be looking to shut down Ray Rice today and the Baltimore Ravens will be looking to sweep the Steelers. You may as well get out the broom right now because the Ravens don't lose at home.

Prediction: Ravens 17 Steelers 13

Ravens vs Patriots Halftime Report

The Ravens vs Patriots AFC Championship Game has been very close so far. Ray Rice has been held to just 21 yards rushing in the first half. Tom Brady has been able to move the ball on the Ravens defense but doesn't look no where near as sharp as he did against the Broncos. The Ravens offense will need to get the ground game going in the second half and get some more TDs. If the offensive line gives Joe Flacco enough time, he has shown that he can make some big plays against the Patriots.

Halftime Score: Ravens 10 Patriots 13

The Baltimore Ravens Did it on New Years Day!

The Baltimore Ravens did not win the Superbowl yet this year but yesterday's win against the Cincinnati Bengals was a major accomplishment. The Ravens are now the AFC North Division Champions for the first time in several years. The Ravens will also have a first round bye in the playoffs and a home game.

The Ravens basically gave the ball to their best weapon on offense Ray Rice yesterday and he was a beast. Ray Rice broke loose for 2 long touchdown runs yesterday and one was for 70 yards. Ray Rice had 24 carries for a whopping 191 yards on the ground. Happy New Year Baltimore!

After Getting Blown Out By Chargers, Ravens Get Help from 49ers

The San Diego Chargers blew the Baltimore Ravens away last Sunday night. The Ravens were helped on Monday however when the 49ers beat the Steelers. Ray Rice only had 10 carries for 57 yards even though he was averaging close to 6 yards per carry. Once Ravens got behind, they abandoned the running game altogether as usual.

The Ravens are currently the #2 seed in the AFC. They were the #1 seed before the loss to the Chargers.

Final Score: Ravens 14 Chargers 34

Ravens Hold on to Beat Bengals

If Ray Rice gets his touches, the Baltimore Ravens usually win. Ray Rice had 20 carries for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns. Joe Flacco was 17 for 27 and 270 yards. He threw 2 touchdowns and had 1 int.

The Bengals played us tough as usual, scoring 3 touchdowns on our defense. The Ravens defense was able to stop the Bengals on their final drive to clinch the win. The Ravens now sit at the top of the AFC North at 7 wins and 3 losses.

Final Score: Ravens 31 Bengals 24

Seahawks Upset Ravens in Seattle

The Baltimore Ravens were upset by the Seattle Seahawks today. David Reed gets part of the blame by fumbling on 2 kick off returns. The Ravens continue to fall apart the next week after a big win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Ravens defense held the Seahawks to mostly field goals but the pass rush was non existent. The Ravens somehow abandoned the running game again with Ray Rice only having 5 carries for 27 yards. Joe Flacco has 52 passing attempts in the game.

The Ravens still lead the AFC North but barely. The Ravens have their work cut out for them as they play the Bengals next week and then the 49ers on Thanksgiving Day.

Final Score: Ravens 17 Seahawks 22

Ravens vs Steelers Halftime Report

It has been all defense so far in this furious battle between division rivals. The Ravens had a Ray Rice touchdown called back for holding early in the game. The Steelers haven't been able to get it in the end zone either. Right now it looks like the team with the best field goal kicking performance will win.

Halftime Score: Ravens 9 Steelers 6

Ravens Crush Cardinals Hopes of an Upset

The Arizona Cardinals wanted to shock the Ravens Nation by coming in and pulling out an upset of the Ravens in Baltimore. In the the first half it looked like they were going to get what they wanted. The Cardinals led the Ravens by 21 points at one point in the first half.

The Baltimore Ravens were not having it though. Joe Flacco started getting the ball to Anquan Boldin in the second half and Boldin made several big catches which led to Ravens points in the second half. Ray Rice was the beneficiary of those big plays and ended up scoring 3 TDs in the second half.

I asked if Joe Flacco had what it takes to get us back in the game in my halftime report. The answer was obviously yes! Joe Flacco ended up with 336 yards passing as he led us to the biggest comeback victory in Ravens franchise history. The Ravens will face the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday night.

Final Score: Ravens 30 Cardinals 27

Ravens Give Up First Place in AFC North

It was a game the Baltimore Ravens should have won. It is hard to win though if you can't score. The Jacksonville Jaguars kept the Ravens scoreless until late in the 4th quarter. Despite another impressive performance by the defense, the Ravens offense did not show up at all until late in the 4th quarter.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are now in first place in the AFC North. Terrell Suggs said it best after the game. He said the Jaguars fed their horse while the Ravens only gave Ray Rice 8 carries. Well it looks like the Ravens offense has its problems but what else is new?

Final Score: Ravens 7 Jaguars 12

The Ravens Send The Texans Home With Another Loss

The Houston Texans have never beaten the Baltimore Ravens in their franchise history. Nothing changed today as the Ravens beat them again. The Texans played the Ravens tough but could not do too much against the Ravens defense.

Ray Rice had 101 yards rushing and Anquan Boldin had 132 yards receiving. Joe Flacco passed for 305 yards. Ray Lewis had 8 tackles and a sack today.

Final Score: Ravens 29 Texans 14

Ravens Slaughter the Rams in Their Own House

The Rams didn't have a chance today against the Baltimore Ravens and ended up getting slaughtered. The hungry Ravens feasted on the Rams after coming off a defeat last week against the Tennessee Titans. The Ravens were hungry for a win and they showed it on the road in St. Louis.

Torrey Smith came out of nowhere to catch 3 touchdowns in the first half!!! Ray Rice had over 160 yards from scrimmage and Joe Flacco passed for 389 yards! The defense held strong and only allowed 7 points to the Rams. Looks like the Jets got next.

Final Score: Ravens 37 Rams 7

Joe Flacco Gets the Monkey Off his Back Against the Steelers

All you kept hearing this year is how Joe Flacco has never beaten Ben Roethlisberger. Well, today Joe Flacco played way better than Ben Roethlisberger. Flacco looked like an elite quarterback today striking early and often. His first pass of the entire season was a touchdown pass to Anquan Boldin!

Ray Rice was also a beast on offense scoring 2 TDs in the first half.  The legendary Ed Reed had 2 picks. Mighty Ray Lewis had a pick and forced a fumble. Terrell Suggs aka T. Sizzle caused major havoc and became the Ravens all-time sack leader today. I thought it would be another close game at first but the Ravens whipped the Steelers asses like they stoled something.  If the Ravens continue to play this well, this could indeed be our Superbowl year.

Final Score: Ravens 35 Steelers 7

Ravens Sign Fullback Vonta Leach

The Baltimore Ravens have acquired Pro Bowl fullback Vonta Leach from the Houston Texans. This free agency acquisition should help Ray Rice in the running game tremendously.

Baltimore Ravens Player Organized Workouts

Article first published as Baltimore Ravens Hold Player Organized Workouts on Technorati.

Several Baltimore Ravens players have been participating in a player organized team work out this past week at Towson State University’s Johnny Unitas Stadium.  The practice work out was organized by Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Derrick Mason. The workouts which were scheduled to last three days started on Tuesday. Twenty seven Ravens players attended the first workout. There were several key veteran Ravens players in attendance such as Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, and Derrick Mason.

Some of the rookies taken in this year’s draft also showed up for the workouts such as wide receivers Torrey Smith and Tandon Doss. Derrick Mason commented that the rookie wide receivers still have a lot to learn to compete on the NFL level, but he believes they will excel once the season starts and will help the team. He feels the addition of Torrey Smith and Tandon Doss will only help him and veteran wide receiver Anquan Boldin during the regular season.

Some of the veteran defensive players in attendance included cornerbacks Josh Wilson and Domonique Foxworth. Jimmy Smith, who was the Baltimore Ravens number one pick, was not in attendance at the workouts and as a result stirred up some local controversy.

Many people have criticized Jimmy Smith for not being in attendance because they view the player organized workouts as an opportunity for him to show how serious he is about becoming a model player for Ravens. Rookie wide receiver Torrey Smith, who has befriended Jimmy Smith, took up for him tweeting that the workouts were mainly for offensive players and that Jimmy Smith did not miss a thing.

Personally, I do not blame Jimmy Smith for not attending the workouts. The risk of injury is just too great considering that he hasn’t even been paid yet and currently has no injury coverage by the NFL.
