Ravens vs Bengals: Revenge is Sweet for the Ravens

They say pay back is a b**tch, well the Baltimore Ravens definitely paid the Bengals back for the loss at home on Thanksgiving Day where the Ravens had a mind blowing 5 turnovers. Sunday was a different story however and the Ravens made a statement by shutting out Joe Burrow for the first time in his NFL career. It was a 24 to 0 ass whooping! The Ravens defense was even doing hand offs on the pick sixes reminiscent of the Ed Reed days!

Various Sports Analysts and Podcasts React to Ravens vs Bengals Game

Baltimore Ravens defeated the Cinncinati Bengals 24-0 and dominated the football game. These are our post-game reflections.

The Baltimore Ravens' victory over the Cincinnati Bengals put an end to Bengals' chances of qualifying for the NFL playoffs this football season. Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson both played well. Joe Burrow was shut out by the Ravens defense.

We analyze the Ravens' convincing 24-0 shutout victory over the Bengals in what turned out to be the coldest game in the team's history on today's episode of The Flock Rundown. From the first snap, Baltimore's defense established the tone by controlling the line of scrimmage, forcing two crucial turnovers, and totally stifling Cincinnati's offense for the whole four quarters.

Ravens vs Bengals Comments: The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly

The Good
Despite the final result presenting a bleak image, the Baltimore Ravens exhibited flashes of their characteristic rushing power that saved the game from turning into a full blown shutout. On the team's first possession, hulking workhorse Derrick Henry smashed his way to an 18-yard touchdown, setting an early 7-3 tone and reminding everyone why Baltimore's ground attack is still one of the league's most formidable weapons.

With his own 18-yard touchdown rush in the third quarter, Keaton Mitchell added some lightning to the game as it progressed, momentarily reducing the Bengals' advantage to 19–14 and demonstrating that the Ravens' pool of backs can still produce points when the passing game falters. These moments were more than simply consolation prizes; they demonstrated a strong offensive identity that could have completely changed the course of events on a less dismal night.

The Bad
Under the Thanksgiving Day primetime lights, Lamar Jackson's arm appeared unusually unstable, making what should have been a divisional demolition into a confusing struggle for the Ravens. Jackson only completed 17 of 32 passes for 246 yards with a costly interception. He also missed a number of open receivers and seemed shaken behind an offensive line that has been a concern all season, allowing pressures that forced hurried decisions and stalled drives.

The result was a slow aerial approach that couldn't support the run game, leaving Baltimore overly reliant on the ground when the Bengals responded and loaded the box. This inefficiency not only lost early momentum but also showed deeper schematic weaknesses, as the Ravens managed only 14 points—well below their explosive potential—against a Cincinnati defense that began the game as the league's punching bag.

The Ugly
If the Ravens' performance had a nightmare fuel moment, it was the five turnovers that provided the Bengals ideal real estate and converted a winnable contest into a 32-14 disgrace. Tight end Isaiah Likely's heartbreaking fumble at the goal line, just inches from paydirt after a 43-yard gain, resulted in a touchback that swung halftime momentum, while Jackson suffered the brunt of two fumbles—one stripped at the 6-yard line on a sack, another one came loose after what looked like an attemped pass.

Even while opponents often only scored field goals, Baltimore's negligence gave Cincinnati short fields that were ready for exploitation. Zay Flowers' forced fumble late in the game didn't help the situation at all.  This self-inflicted carnage highlighted a lack of discipline that might haunt the purple faithful far beyond the holiday leftovers. It was the ugliest blemish on a team competing for the AFC North title.

Lamar Jackson was Lamarvelous Against the Bengals

Lamar Jackson is seen here giving a Bengals defender a vicious stiff arm in the Ravens vs Bengals game. The Baltimore Ravens won the game 41 to 38 in OT. Below is the highlights from the play that left a Bengals defender shook.

Ravens Sweep the Bengals in Regular Season

The Ravens defense knocked Joe Burrow out of the game and claim the victory on Thursday Night Football. It is a different game when Lamar is on the field as the Bengals now realize. The Ravens remain in the number 1 spot while the Bengals stay in last place in the AFC North division.

The final score of the contest was Ravens 34 Bengals 20

Lamar Jackson Outperforms Joe Burrow Again

Lamar Jackson seems to be getting confortable in his new offense after looking rusty in week 1. Week 2 was a different story however as Lamar Jackson showed why he is a dual threat yesterday leading the Ravens to a 27 to 24 win over the Bengals.

This is the second time in a row that Lamar Jackson has defeated Joe Burrrow head to head. This time he did it in Cinncinati on the road in a hostile environment. Doubters better look out beacause Lamar has weapons now!

What the Hell was Tyler Huntley Thinking?

I really don't want to be too critical of Tyler Huntley, but I have to do it. His decision to go over the top on the goal line was one of the most bone headed plays I have ever seen in NFL history. It was just plain stupid. It was not only stupid, it was embarassing as a Ravens fan to watch that play unfold.

The sad part is that Huntley played fairly well on the road against the Bengals in his first playoff start. He did have an interception early in the game, but he managed ro have us in position to win late in the 4th quarter. Ravens had a golden opportunity to get a touchdown late in the 4th quarter and break the 17 to 17 tie. It looked like the Ravens were going to win the game at the time!

Then the worst thing that could happen happened. Instead of just falling forward on a quarterback sneak call, Huntley opted to try to reach over the top and Bengals defenders were able to force him to fumble. To add insult to injury, the Bengals scooped up the fumble and returned it for a 95 yard touchdown which turned out to be the game winning score.

It was a bad playcall from the start, but the execution of it by Huntley was even worse. What made Huntley think he could go over the top and reach the ball out unsecurely from that far out? His decision to do so certainly didn't help offensive coordinator Greg Roman keep his job. It only made us realize how much we miss a healthy Lamar Jackson.

Is Lamar Jackson Ready?

Rotoworld is reporting that Lamar Jackson is likely to get the start against the Cincinnati Bengals this week due to Joe Flacco's hip injury. If he does get the start, we will learn a lot about Lamar Jackson's readiness to be a starting quarteback in the NFL.

The Baltimore Ravens will face the Cincinatti Bengals who have been struggling on defense. This week may be a great opportunity for Lamar Jackson to show what he can do.

Bengals Spoil Ravens Playoff Wishes

It will be another year that the Baltimore Ravens will miss the playoffs. The Bengals came into Baltimore determined to be spoilers and win one for Marvin Lewis. The Bengals managed to pull out the road win even though the Ravens usually play well at home. The final score was Ravens 27 and Bengals 31.

Even though it was a disappointing season for the Ravens, one bright spot in 2017 has been the play of running back Alex Collins.

Ravens Fall to Colts

The Ravens defense played well. The offense sucked! Turnovers killed the Baltimore Ravens. The first half of the Ravens vs Colts game reminded me of the first half of the Ravens vs Bengals game.

Too many stupid penalties and too many turnovers was the bottom line. Steve Smith Sr. fumbled early. Joe Flacco threw an interception and Jacoby Jones had a bonehead turnover during a return.

Wide receivers Steve Smith Sr. and Torrey Smith were basically shut down and non-existent. Joe Flacco did not throw any TD passes. Forsett ran well and scored the only Ravens TD but did not get enough touches and the defense got no rest at all.

Final Score: Ravens 13 Colts 20

Ravens vs Bengals Halftime Report

There is some good news and some bad news Baltimore Ravens fans. The good news is that the Baltimore Ravens defense has kept the Cincinnati Bengals out of the end zone so far.

The bad news is that the Ravens offense has done absolutely nothing. Bernard Pierce had a fumble. The receivers have been dropping passes. Justin Tucker missed a field goal and Joe Flacco had a bone headed play at the end of the half that may have cost us 3 points.

The first half was horrible to watch but because of strong play by the Baltimore Ravens defense we are still only down by 2 scores.

Hslftime Score: Ravens 0 Bengals 15

Ravens vs Bengals Pre Game Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens will take on the Cincinnati Bengals as their first opponent in the 2014 season. The Ravens will be playing at home at M&T Bank Stadium. The Ravens will be playing without running back Ray Rice who is out on a 2 game suspension. I expect the Ravens vs Bengals game to be a close game but I expect the Ravens to win at home. The Ravens play well at home and the offense looks to be much improved this year and the defense should be stronger as well.

Prediction: Ravens 24 Bengals 20

Ravens vs Bengals Halftime Report

This is a game that the Baltimore Ravens need to clinch the AFC North championship and get the number 2 playoff seed in the AFC. The Ravens looked very good in the first half getting the ball to Ray Rice early who broke one for a TD already. Joe Flacco hit tight end Dennis Pitta for a TD with just 20 seconds to go in the first half.

Halftime Score: Ravens 17 Bengals 3

Ravens vs Bengals Analysis

It will be a playoff type atmosphere as the Baltimore Ravens take on their division opponents the Cincinnati Bengals today. The Ravens can clinch the 2nd seed in the AFC with a win while the Bengals are fighting for a Wild Card spot in the playoffs. Even though the Ravens have played poorly on the road all season, the Ravens tend to play well when something is on the line.

Prediction: Ravens 20 Bengals 13
