Ravens vs Browns Pre-Game Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens are undefeated at home. If the Ravens beat the Cleveland Browns, this will be the first season in franchise history that the Ravens went undefeated at home. The last time these 2 teams met the Ravens beat 24 to 10.

The Ravens always play great at home and I expect them to dominate the Browns.

Prediction: Ravens 27 Browns 10

After Getting Blown Out By Chargers, Ravens Get Help from 49ers

The San Diego Chargers blew the Baltimore Ravens away last Sunday night. The Ravens were helped on Monday however when the 49ers beat the Steelers. Ray Rice only had 10 carries for 57 yards even though he was averaging close to 6 yards per carry. Once Ravens got behind, they abandoned the running game altogether as usual.

The Ravens are currently the #2 seed in the AFC. They were the #1 seed before the loss to the Chargers.

Final Score: Ravens 14 Chargers 34

Sunday, December 18, 2011

Ravens vs Chargers Pre-Game Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens have not been dominant on the road this year. The San Diego Chargers are fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive and have won 2 in a row. If the Ravens stick to the plan that works (giving Ray Rice his touches), they should pull out a close game on the road.

Prediction: Ravens 24 Chargers 20

Ravens Kept Colts Winless Last Sunday

The Baltimore Ravens were able to punish the Colts by last week by keeping them winless. The Ravens remained undefeated at home and the winless Indianapolis Colts stayed winless.

Ray Rice had 103 yards rushing and 1 TD while Joe Flacco had 227 yards in the air and 2 TD passes.

Final Score: Ravens 24 Colts 10

Ravens vs Colts Pre-Game Analysis

I expect the Baltimore Ravens to beat the Indianapolis Colts today. The Ravens are undefeated at home and the Indianapolis Colts are still looking for their first win. The Ravens should dominate this game and win easily.

Prediction: Ravens 30 Colts 13

Saturday, December 10, 2011

Browns Got Fed Lots of Rice

I said the score would be 24 to 10 Ravens and guess what? I called it exactly right. Ray Rice had a field day against the Cleveland Browns last Sunday running for 204 yards on 29 carries. It the formula that always works for the Baltimore Ravens. Pack the defense and feed the other team lots of Rice.

Next up is a team that I hope we humiliate, the Indianapolis Colts.

Ravens vs Browns Pre-Game Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens have struggled on the road this year. The Cleveland Browns have a now healthy Peyton Hillis. This is a matchup that the Ravens should win easily on paper. I expect the Browns to play the Ravens tough early but the Ravens will prevail with a balanced offensive attack.

Prediction Ravens 24 Browns 10

Ravens vs 49ers Pre-Game Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens will be playing in the spotlight again tonight as they take on the San Francisco 49ers at M&T Bank Stadium. It will be brother against brother as the 2 head coaches go at it on Thanksgiving Day.

The Ravens are hard to beat at home, but the 49ers are undefeated on trips to the east coast this year. If the Ravens protect the ball and used a balanced attack on offense, I think they will get the win at home.

Prediction: Ravens 24 49ers 17

Ravens Hold on to Beat Bengals

If Ray Rice gets his touches, the Baltimore Ravens usually win. Ray Rice had 20 carries for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns. Joe Flacco was 17 for 27 and 270 yards. He threw 2 touchdowns and had 1 int.

The Bengals played us tough as usual, scoring 3 touchdowns on our defense. The Ravens defense was able to stop the Bengals on their final drive to clinch the win. The Ravens now sit at the top of the AFC North at 7 wins and 3 losses.

Final Score: Ravens 31 Bengals 24

Ravens vs Bengals Pre-Game Analysis

Joe Flacco had the worst game of his career last year against the Cincinnati Bengals. He threw 4 interceptions in their first meeting last year and looked more like Joe Fool than Joe Cool. Since then, Joe Flacco has played much better but is still very inconsistent.

This is a game that the Ravens must win and they must use the proven formula of giving Ray Rice the ball. Ray Rice only had 5 carries last week which will not cut it against the Bengals. The Ravens will be playing without Ray Lewis and the Bengals will play without rookie star wide receiver A. J. Green.

Hopefully, the Ravens coaching staff have finally learned their lesson and won't try to throw the ball 60 times against this Bengals defense. The Baltimore Ravens have not loss 2 games in a row in a long time.

Prediction: Ravens 24 Bengals 13

Seahawks Upset Ravens in Seattle

The Baltimore Ravens were upset by the Seattle Seahawks today. David Reed gets part of the blame by fumbling on 2 kick off returns. The Ravens continue to fall apart the next week after a big win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Ravens defense held the Seahawks to mostly field goals but the pass rush was non existent. The Ravens somehow abandoned the running game again with Ray Rice only having 5 carries for 27 yards. Joe Flacco has 52 passing attempts in the game.

The Ravens still lead the AFC North but barely. The Ravens have their work cut out for them as they play the Bengals next week and then the 49ers on Thanksgiving Day.

Final Score: Ravens 17 Seahawks 22

Ravens vs Seahwks Pre-Game Analysis

The is a game that the Baltimore Ravens should win even if it is on the road. The Seattle Seahawks have a record of 2 and 6 while the Ravens have 6 wins and just 2 losses.

The Ravens have had a tendency to fall asleep after big win this season. Let's hope they have learned from their mistakes.

Prediction: Ravens 27 Seahawks 13

Ravens Sweep Steelers

The Baltimore Ravens completed the regular season sweep of the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night. It was a tough close game unlike the blowout in week one. Joe Flacco proved that he can shine under tough conditions on the road by leading a 92 yard touchdown drive to win the game in the final seconds.

Joe Flacco has led the Ravens to 2 great comeback victories in 2 straight weeks. Who knows? If Cam Cameron had made adjustments earlier in the Jaguars game, it may have been 3 in a row. Flacco's stats: 28-47, 314 yds, 1 td

All the Ravens have to do now is beat the Bengals and they will grab the AFC North crown!

Final Score: Ravens 23 Steelers 20

Ravens vs Steelers Halftime Report

It has been all defense so far in this furious battle between division rivals. The Ravens had a Ray Rice touchdown called back for holding early in the game. The Steelers haven't been able to get it in the end zone either. Right now it looks like the team with the best field goal kicking performance will win.

Halftime Score: Ravens 9 Steelers 6

Ravens vs Steelers Pre-Game Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens are coming off their greatest comeback win in franchise history. The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the mighty New England Patriots last week.

The Ravens totally dominated the Steelers in week 1. The Steelers are looking much improved on both sides of the ball since the first meeting. I expect this to be a tough hard fought match but I expect the Ravens to finally prove themselves by beating the Steelers in Pittsburgh even with a healthy Ben Roethlisberger.

Terrell Suggs I need you to own Roethlisberger's ass once again!!!

Prediction: Ravens 20 Steelers 17

Ravens Crush Cardinals Hopes of an Upset

The Arizona Cardinals wanted to shock the Ravens Nation by coming in and pulling out an upset of the Ravens in Baltimore. In the the first half it looked like they were going to get what they wanted. The Cardinals led the Ravens by 21 points at one point in the first half.

The Baltimore Ravens were not having it though. Joe Flacco started getting the ball to Anquan Boldin in the second half and Boldin made several big catches which led to Ravens points in the second half. Ray Rice was the beneficiary of those big plays and ended up scoring 3 TDs in the second half.

I asked if Joe Flacco had what it takes to get us back in the game in my halftime report. The answer was obviously yes! Joe Flacco ended up with 336 yards passing as he led us to the biggest comeback victory in Ravens franchise history. The Ravens will face the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday night.

Final Score: Ravens 30 Cardinals 27

Ravens vs Cardinals Halftime Report

The Baltimore Ravens look even worse than they did against the Jaguars last week. The Arizona Cardinals totally dominated the Baltimore Ravens in the first half. It doesn't look good for the Ravens as the offense continues to struggle and commit turnovers. It didn't help that the Ravens special teams unit gave up a punt return touchdown as well.

Does Joe Flacco have what it takes to get the Ravens back in this game? We will find out in the second half.

Ravens vs Cardinals Pre-Game Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens will be looking to redeem themselves after Monday night's poor performance on offense. The Arizona Cardinals will be facing the Ravens top rated defense on the road. I expect the Ravens to be focused and dominate this game at home.

Ravens Give Up First Place in AFC North

It was a game the Baltimore Ravens should have won. It is hard to win though if you can't score. The Jacksonville Jaguars kept the Ravens scoreless until late in the 4th quarter. Despite another impressive performance by the defense, the Ravens offense did not show up at all until late in the 4th quarter.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are now in first place in the AFC North. Terrell Suggs said it best after the game. He said the Jaguars fed their horse while the Ravens only gave Ray Rice 8 carries. Well it looks like the Ravens offense has its problems but what else is new?

Final Score: Ravens 7 Jaguars 12

Ravens vs Jaguars Pre-Game Analysis

The Jacksonville Jaguars want to make a name for themselves by beating a good legitimate football team on Monday Night Football. The Baltimore Ravens are looking to stay at the top of the AFC North with another win. The Ravens currently lead the NFL in average margin of victory (22.5). This will be a very long night for Jaguar's quarterback Blaine Gabbert. Look for the Ravens defense to cause havoc and dominate. The question for Blaine Gabbert is what are you going to do when T-Sizzle and Ngata come for you?

Prediction: Ravens 27 Jaguars 17

The Ravens Send The Texans Home With Another Loss

The Houston Texans have never beaten the Baltimore Ravens in their franchise history. Nothing changed today as the Ravens beat them again. The Texans played the Ravens tough but could not do too much against the Ravens defense.

Ray Rice had 101 yards rushing and Anquan Boldin had 132 yards receiving. Joe Flacco passed for 305 yards. Ray Lewis had 8 tackles and a sack today.

Final Score: Ravens 29 Texans 14

Ravens vs Texans Halftime Report

The Ravens looked pretty good on their opening drive but since then the offense has looked terrible. The offense has turned the ball over already at least twice already. The Ravens defense has played outstanding as usual but the turnovers by the offense are keeping the Texans in the game. The offensive line for the Ravens looks horrible right now and Joe Flacco is getting pounded.

Halftime Score: Ravens 10 Texans 7

Ravens vs Texans Pre-Game Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens are well rested coming off of a bye week. The Houston Texans are battered and bruised coming off of a defeat by the hands of the Oakland Raiders last week. The Ravens usually play hard at home. Joe Flacco had a bad game against the Jets before the bye and I am looking to see some improvement today. I also expect the Ravens defense to contain Arian Foster today.

Prediction: Ravens 24 Texans 17

Ravens Destroy the Jets in Primetime Sunday Night

It wasn't even close. The New York Jets were overpowered by the Baltimore Ravens defense which returned 3 turnovers for touchdowns. The Jets defense did play well but the Ravens defense played better. The Ravens defense set the tone early by recovering a Mark Sanchez fumble for a TD. The fumble was forced by the legendary Ed Reed.

Joe Flacco targeted Torrey Smith deep a few times but they could not connect as well as they did last week against the Rams. The Ravens look good going into the bye week sitting in first place in the AFC North. After the bye week, the Ravens will play the Houston Texans at home.

Final Score: Ravens 34 Jets 17

Sunday, October 2, 2011

Ravens vs Jets Pre-Game Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens with be playing the Baltimore Jets AKA the New York Jets tonight. Rex Ryan has built his Jets team around former Ravens and Steelers players. Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith had a field day last week but will be tested against the Jets cornerbacks.

The Jets gave up lots of yards last week but I expect them to try to stop the running game of the Ravens tonight. If the Ravens can protect Joe Flacco and get after Sanchez, the Ravens should get the win at home.

Prediction: Ravens 24 Jets 17

Ravens Slaughter the Rams in Their Own House

The Rams didn't have a chance today against the Baltimore Ravens and ended up getting slaughtered. The hungry Ravens feasted on the Rams after coming off a defeat last week against the Tennessee Titans. The Ravens were hungry for a win and they showed it on the road in St. Louis.

Torrey Smith came out of nowhere to catch 3 touchdowns in the first half!!! Ray Rice had over 160 yards from scrimmage and Joe Flacco passed for 389 yards! The defense held strong and only allowed 7 points to the Rams. Looks like the Jets got next.

Final Score: Ravens 37 Rams 7

Ravens vs Rams Halftime Report

The Baltimore Ravens are blowing out the St. Louis Rams in the first half. Torrey Smith has come to life catching 3 passes for TDs in the first half. His first 3 catches in the NFL were each for touchdowns today and that ties a NFL record.

The Ravens defense has managed to shutdown the St. Louis Rams completely. The Rams only had 3 yards passing in the first half! The Ravens have definitely bounced back from their loss last week.

Halftime Score: Ravens 27 Rams 0

Ravens vs Rams Pre-Game Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens will be looking to redeem themselves today after their poor performance last week. Even though this will be a road game, I expect the Ravens to play with more intensity this week.

In order to come home with a win, we will need the Joe Flacco who played against the Steelers in week one to show up. We may have to make key plays in the passing game to win because the Rams may try to take advantage of our weakness at the cornerback position. I expect our defense to step because if they don't it could turn into a shootout.

Prediction: Ravens 24 Rams 17

Ravens Fall to Titans

After looking like a team that might be headed to the Superbowl against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, the Tennessee Titans brought the Baltimore Ravens back down to earth. I hate to say it but the Titans outplayed the Ravens on both sides of the ball.

Joe Flacco threw 2 interceptions and Ricky Williams had a fumble. Matt Hasselbeck passed for 358 yards on our Ravens defense.

Final Score: Titans 26 Ravens 13

Ravens vs Titans Halftime Report

OK, looks like the Tennessee Titans are playing us tougher than expected. Their home crowd is in it and the Titans are playing like they are motivated to get their first win of the season. The Titans have been able to exploit our weaknesses at the cornerback position due to injuries and Britt was able to score on Foxworth for a TD in the first half. The Baltimore Ravens have already turned the ball over twice. This will have to stop in the 2nd half in order for the Ravens to come home with the win.

Halftime Score: Ravens 10 Titans 10

Ravens vs Titans Pre-Game Analysis

The Tennessee Titans have been crying and whining all week long claiming the Baltimore Ravens play dirty etc... This let's me know that they fear our physical defense and offense already and they haven't stepped on the field yet. A scared team is an unprepared team. I expect a competitive game but the Ravens will dominate them in their own house.

Prediction: Ravens 24 Titans 13

Joe Flacco Gets the Monkey Off his Back Against the Steelers

All you kept hearing this year is how Joe Flacco has never beaten Ben Roethlisberger. Well, today Joe Flacco played way better than Ben Roethlisberger. Flacco looked like an elite quarterback today striking early and often. His first pass of the entire season was a touchdown pass to Anquan Boldin!

Ray Rice was also a beast on offense scoring 2 TDs in the first half.  The legendary Ed Reed had 2 picks. Mighty Ray Lewis had a pick and forced a fumble. Terrell Suggs aka T. Sizzle caused major havoc and became the Ravens all-time sack leader today. I thought it would be another close game at first but the Ravens whipped the Steelers asses like they stoled something.  If the Ravens continue to play this well, this could indeed be our Superbowl year.

Final Score: Ravens 35 Steelers 7

Ravens vs Steelers at 1pm on 9/11 Game On!

Ok Baltimore Ravens fans, we are about to play our first game of the 2011 season.  It's time to get revenge on those annoying Pissburgh Steelers!  It's time to get pumped up!  If you are not fired up yet then check out the following YouTube video before you watch the game:

Ravens vs Steelers Pre-Game Analysis

Joe Flacco has never beaten Ben Roethlisberger.  The Pittsburgh Steelers have knocked the Baltimore Ravens out of the playoffs in 2 of the last 3 playoff runs.  The Ravens do have home field advantage and are looking for some much needed revenge against their AFC North rivals.

Even though the Steelers are the favorites tomorrow, I have to go with my home team.  I think the moves made in the off season and the fact we are playing at home will be enough for the Ravens to pull out the victory in another close one.

Prediction: Ravens 24 Steelers 20

Are Fans Taking Football Games Too Seriously? Fan Fights are on the Rise

Yeah I think it is very good to support your hometown team, but when it leads to violence then it has gone too far.  There seems to be an increase in fan fights and violence in all sports and not just football.  A few few weeks ago, a major fan fight broke out at M & T Bank Stadium during the Ravens vs Chiefs preaseason game.  That's right it was just a preseason game.

Here is a video clip of the fan fight at the Ravens vs Chiefs preaseason game in August 2011:

Do the Ravens Need to Get Another Backup Quarterback?

I heard several local sports talk hosts say that the Baltimore Ravens need to go out and get a veteran backup quarterback to replace Marc Bulger.  The idea being that if Joe Flacco goes down, a veteran would be able to step in and still lead the team to the Superbowl.  I personally don't think that the Ravens don't need to do this for three main reasons:

Reason #1 - Joe Flacco rarely gets hurt.  Marc Bulger made a whole lot of money last year just to carry a clipboard.

Reason #2 - I would rather use that money to build more depth on the offensive line or to improve the pass rush.

Reason #3 - The impressive play of rookie Tyrod Taylor. Tyrod Taylor has played so well in the preseason so far that I have no problem with him backing up Joe Flacco.  Remember 2008?  Joe Flacco didn't have much experience either when he came in as a rookie and the team went all the way to the AFC Championship game.

Ravens Fall to Eagles in First Pre Season Game

The Baltimore Ravens lost to the Philadelphia Eagles Thursday night but there was some bright spots.  I thought that  backup rookie quarterback Tyrod Taylor showed a lot of potential considering it was his first NFL game.  I also thought that Pollard and Kruger played very well on defense.  The offensive line still remains  a major concern however.

The Ravens will take on the Kansas City Chiefs next at home on Friday, August 19th at 7:30 pm.  Go Ravens!!!

Deion Sanders Didn't Disappoint During Enshrinement Speech

I was expecting an emotional speech from former Baltimore Ravens player Shannon Sharper, but former Ravens player Deion Sanders gave a pretty emotional speech as well today at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement ceremony.  Sanders revealed that he created the Primetime persona as a way to get rich and provide for his mother.  Deion also surprised everyone by putting a bandana on his Pro Football Hall of Fame bust at the end of his speech.

Both former Ravens players Sharpe and Sanders gave great inspirational and emotional speeches.  After the induction ceremony, Deion broke down while being interviewed on the NFL Network when he started taking about his mother.  Deion then went on to say the it was one of his best nights ever.

After seeing Sharpe and Sanders get inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, I can just imagine what it'll be like when Ray Lewis and Ed Reed eventually go in.

Former Raven Shannon Sharpe Delivers Highly Emotional Speech

Former Baltimore Ravens player  Shannon Sharpe became only the 8th tight end inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  Shannon Sharpe holds the NFL record for the longest TD in an AFC Championship game when he broke one for 96 yards against the Raiders cementing the Ravens first trip to the Superbowl.

Sharpe thanked many people for his success during his enshrinement speech including former Ravens owner Art Modell and mentioned the Baltimore fans among others.  Most of all Shannon Sharpe thanked his grandmother Mary Porter who raised him and his brother Sterling Sharpe who inspired him.  In an emotional speech, Sharpe outlined his childhood growing up in low income conditions and how it drove him to be the man he is today.

The Ravens probably would not have gone to the Superbowl in 2000 without the leadership and productivity of Shannon Sharpe that year.  In tribute to Shannon Sharpe, here is a rare footage of an interview when he played for the Ravens:

Shannon Sharpe and Deion Sanders have Much in Common

Former Baltimore Ravens players Shannon Sharpe and Deion Sanders seem to have a lot in common:

- Both are former Baltimore Ravens players
- Both are going into the 201l Pro Football Hall of Fame Class today
- Both have won Superbowls with 2 different teams
- Both became football talk hosts after retirement
- Both changed their jersey numbers when they played for the Ravens
(Shannon changed from 84 to 82 and Deion changed from 21 to 37)

The Baltimore Ravens have acquired Pro Bowl fullback Vonta Leach from the Houston Texans. This free agency acquisition should help Ray Rice in the running game tremendously.

Jimmy Smith Deal Done

Rookie cornerback Jimmy Smith has signed his deal with the Ravens and has already started practice.  It is reported that all of the Baltimore Ravens 2011 draft picks are now signed.  It is expected that Jimmy Smith will start now that Josh Wilson has signed with the Washington Redskins.

It was also reported that Jimmy Smith had a gery good first practice with the team and looks good physically.   He has been studying the playbook during the lockout and is picking up on the denfensive schemes rather quickly.  He will have to be a fast learner because the Ravens will play the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first game of the season.

Baltimore Ravens Player Organized Workouts

Article first published as Baltimore Ravens Hold Player Organized Workouts on Technorati.

Several Baltimore Ravens players have been participating in a player organized team work out this past week at Towson State University’s Johnny Unitas Stadium.  The practice work out was organized by Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Derrick Mason. The workouts which were scheduled to last three days started on Tuesday. Twenty seven Ravens players attended the first workout. There were several key veteran Ravens players in attendance such as Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, and Derrick Mason.

Some of the rookies taken in this year’s draft also showed up for the workouts such as wide receivers Torrey Smith and Tandon Doss. Derrick Mason commented that the rookie wide receivers still have a lot to learn to compete on the NFL level, but he believes they will excel once the season starts and will help the team. He feels the addition of Torrey Smith and Tandon Doss will only help him and veteran wide receiver Anquan Boldin during the regular season.

Some of the veteran defensive players in attendance included cornerbacks Josh Wilson and Domonique Foxworth. Jimmy Smith, who was the Baltimore Ravens number one pick, was not in attendance at the workouts and as a result stirred up some local controversy.

Many people have criticized Jimmy Smith for not being in attendance because they view the player organized workouts as an opportunity for him to show how serious he is about becoming a model player for Ravens. Rookie wide receiver Torrey Smith, who has befriended Jimmy Smith, took up for him tweeting that the workouts were mainly for offensive players and that Jimmy Smith did not miss a thing.

Personally, I do not blame Jimmy Smith for not attending the workouts. The risk of injury is just too great considering that he hasn’t even been paid yet and currently has no injury coverage by the NFL.

2011 NFL Draft Ends for Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens have drafted eight new players in the 7 rounds of the 2011 NFL draft which ends today.  It was an exciting draft for Ravens fans, and I believe that the Ravens did very well in the draft.  For a list of the Ravens draft picks, check out the link below:

Ravens Pick Running Back in 7th and Final Round of 2011 NFL draft

The Baltimore Ravens picked RB Anthony Allen in the 7th and final round of the 2011 NFL draft.  Assuming the that Ravens lose McGahee and  possibly McLain to free agency, the Ravens have added some depth at the running back position.

Ravens Pick QB Tyrod Taylor in Sixth Round of 2011 NFL Draft

It looks like the rumors that current Ravens backup quarterback Marc Bulger is going to be traded are true.  The Baltimore Ravens have just drafted Virginia Tech QB Tyrod Taylor with their 6th round draft pick in the 2011 NFL draft.  Tyrod Taylor is a dynamic quarterback who can make throws both inside and outside the pocket.  Taylor is Virginia Tech's all time passing leader with 7,017 yards.

Ravens Grab a DB and a DL in Fifth Round

The Baltimore Ravens had two back to back picks in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL draft.  The Ravens chose to select DB Chykie Brown from Texas and DL Pernell McPhee from Mississippi St. to solidify an always stong Ravens defense.

Ravens Select Another Wide Receiver with Fourth Round Pick

The Baltimore Ravens pick their 2nd Wide Receiver in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL draft with their selection of Indiana WR Tandon DossTandon Doss is considered to be another speedy receiver with good route running skills.

Ravens Attempt to Fix Offensive Line with Third Round Pick

The Baltimore Ravens picked Central Florida offensive tackle Jah Reid in the third round of the 2011 NFL draft.  Apparently, they must have liked this OT as they traded up five spots to get him.  With Gaither being doubtful, this was an excellent choice to fix our problems on the offensive line.  Ozzie is a genious.  Too bad the Chicago Bears screwed us over on the 4th round pick that we deserved.

Friday, April 29, 2011

Ravens Pick Wide Receiver Torrey Smith in Second Round

The Baltimore Ravens have decided to fix their problems stretching the defense on offense with their second round pick in the 2011 NFL draft.  The Ravens picked speedy Maryland WR Torrey Smith and now have an impressive group of wide receivers.  The Ravens have added speed to both the offense and defense with their first two picks and I am very happy so far with the selections.

Ravens Select Jimmy Smith with Their First Round Pick in 2011 NFL Draft

The Baltimore Ravens have selected Colorado cornerback Jimmy Smith with their first round pick in the 2011 NFL draft.  I think this was a great pick for the  Baltimore Ravens who have had issues at the cornerback position for the last few years.

Monday, April 25, 2011

Will the Ravens Pick a Cornerback in the NFL Draft?

The Baltimore Ravens have been trying to fix their problems at the cornerback position for a few years now. I was so surprised last year that the Ravens did not pick a cornerback in the NFL draft. Last year we seemed to be more focused to trying to fix our problems at the wide receiver position.

This year there is some speculation that we may pick Colorado cornerback Jimmy Smith with the Ravens first pick in the 2011 NFL draft if the opportunity in there. I personally would like to see us get a good young cornerback as well a good OL to take the place of Gaither in this years NFL draft. Many say that Jimmy Smith draws comparison to former Ravens cornerback Chris McAlister.

Ravens Blow Another One to Pittsburgh

The Baltimore Ravens turned over the ball 3 times in the second half to blow a 14 point lead. Ray Rice fumbles leading to a Steelers score. Joe Flacco throws an interception. Boldin drops a touchdown pass. T.J. drops a much needed pass on the final drive. Too much went wrong in the second half for me to list. The Ravens defense made some big plays but the offense didn't do much the whole game besides turn the ball over. The way the Ravens lost today was embarrassing for Ravens fans.

Final Score: Ravens 24 Steelers 31

Ravens vs Steelers Halftime Report

The Baltimore Ravens came to play and that's no lie! Terrell Suggs A.K.A. T Sizzle has been a big difference maker getting to Big Ben and forcing turnovers. Roethlisberger has already been sacked three times by a tenacious Ravens defense in the first half.

Halftime Score: Ravens 21 Steelers 7

Ravens vs Steelers III Pre-Game Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens came back to win the first meeting between these 2 teams this season led by a Joe Flacco drive and touchdown in the 4th quarter. The Pittsburgh Steelers won the second meeting because of a Ben Roethlisberger touchdown in the 4th quarter. Who will be the hero in the third meeting?

This is what we are about to find out as the Baltimore Ravens face the Pittsburgh Steelers for the third time this season today. The Ravens are coming off an impressive win against the Chiefs, but the Steelers are very well rested. It should be a very good game and most likely a very close game. I am picking the Ravens to win and finally get the monkey off their back by beating Pittsburgh in the playoffs.

Prediction: Ravens 17 Pittsburgh 13

Ravens Beat Chiefs in a Convincing Manner

If you were tired of seeing the Baltimore Ravens win ugly, you can't say that they won ugly today. The Baltimore Ravens pretty much dominated the Kansas City Chiefs the whole game. If it was not for a Joe Flacco fumble, the Chiefs may not have scored at all. The Ravens defense was incredible forcing fumbles and getting interceptions all day. The Ravens offense were ball hogs and Todd Heap had a great day with 8 catches for 108 yards.

It was no fourth quarter collapse this week as the Ravens strictly dominated the Chiefs. Next week the Ravens will face their arch rival Pittsburgh Steelers to see who will go to the AFC Championship.

Final Score: Ravens 30 Chiefs 7

Ravens vs Chiefs Pre-Game Analysis

The Kansas City Chiefs have probably the best running attack in the NFL. The Baltimore Ravens pride themselves on stopping the run. It should be a very good matchup. Although the Chiefs are playing at home, the Ravens have the better record and should be the better team.

Prediction: Ravens 24 Chiefs 17
